Renault KIGER Design – Created for the World, Launched in India

 

While conceiving a new car idea, its design is the trickiest and most difficult part for any car maker. 

Since every potential customer has a different viewpoint, loves different specifications, and even hates certain things, the carmakers must create a thing that is not only liked by everyone but is also adored. Only then can the car become successful, or else it is considered a mediocre performer and will fade away with time.

When Renault was thinking of launching its global car, this was the primary task at hand. The Renault Kiger design must be such that it is not only liked by all but even adored. Only then the car would become successful. This was important for Renault since it had experienced a successful hat trick with its previous three launches, namely the Duster, Kwid, and the latest one being the Triber.

As a result, an international team of expert designers from India and France started working on the Renault Kiger design. Since the Kiger was intended to be a global car, first to be launched in India and then the rest of the world, the design had to have a global appeal.

When finally, the show car was exhibited, it was declared by Renault that this matches the final car to the extent of 75%. However, the excitement this 75% version created in the public was tremendous. Wherever the show car was exhibited, it met with an enthusiastic response telling Renault KIGER design team that they were on the right track.

Finally, in February this year when the actual car was released, the enthusiasm reached its zenith. Just like its older cousins, the Kiger too became an instant hit and lost no time in capturing the customer’s hearts and minds.

So, what exactly is so special about the Renault KIGER design that made it a runaway success that too in a market which is currently India’s hottest car category with offerings from most car makers?

• Attention-grabbing stance

The moment you see a Kiger, the first thing that strikes you is its stunning design and muscular SUV stance. In a moment it assures you that the car has both substance and style that will take any road surface in its stride. The dimensions and proportions of every element is well calculated to serve their purpose right and create an aura around the car.

• Dual tone exteriors

The dual tone exteriors of the car, that too across all variants, adds to the level of appeal. This dual tone takes the desirability quotient a level higher.

• Front design elements

On the front side, the Renault KIGER design features a chrome grille that uses chrome to the right degree. The second important design feature, that also provides functional benefit, is the tri-octa pure vision LED headlamps with LED DRLs. Besides adding to the look of the car, this also illuminates the road ahead and acts as a safety feature.

• Rear design elements

The Kiger is stylish from the rear too. The C-shaped signature LED tail lamps add a touch of class to the rear end of the car.

• Wheels

With 40.64 cm diamond-cut alloy wheels, the Kiger turns from a car to poetry in motion.

• Ground clearance

Perhaps the most sought-after feature of car buyers in India is the ground clearance. Given the sub-par road conditions and uneven speed breaker heights, it is important to have a car that has high ground clearance to save its underbelly from scrapping the ground. Being an SUV and an urban car rolled into one, Kiger sports a high ground clearance of 205 mm that takes both rough and smooth easily.

The stunning design of Renault KIGER is not just a work of art but there is a lot of science and practical aspects hidden in it. When you are creating a car that is expected to have a global appeal, one needs to think like the Kiger.
