Renault car prices always attract consumer attention

 On April 1, 2020, the Supreme Court of India ordered all vehicle manufacturers to stop the sale of any BS4 vehicle in the country from that day. The reason is that all vehicles sold after that date had to comply with the new BS6 standards.


What is BS6?


BS6 means "Bharat Stage" and the number "6" indicates its version. These are the standards decided by the governing body for vehicular pollution in India called Bharat Stage Emission Standards (BSES). BS1 was introduced in the country in 2000. Since then, these standards have been updated many times and have also become more stringent. The last applicable standard was BS4, which ended on March 31, 2020.

What are the implications of switching to BS6?

BS6 requires each vehicle manufacturer to update its technology and engine efficiency to meet the new and more stringent emission standards. This means an increase in engine efficiency and the overall technology of the car, which is expected to release fewer pollutants into the environment.

Impact of BS6 on car prices.

Every new technology that is introduced to the market must go through a series of scientific research and development. This has a direct impact on the cost of the car. However, looking at the common good, both automakers and customers will have to bear less of an additional burden.

Impact of BS6 on different cars in India

For most buyers, an entry-level car is the culmination of a dream of owning a car. The entry-level car segment is also the most price-sensitive segment of all. Therefore, for the BS6 versions of their entry-level car, all manufacturers set out to price very precisely so that the customer does not feel the rush. For example, Renault car prices in this segment have remained in the same range as before. The Renault KWID BS6 is now available in the same price range with a starting price of Rs. 2.92 Lacs (ex. Showroom Delhi).
